Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
I am a citizen of India. I would like to know if I can legally renounce my caste. I do not wish to be recognized with a particular caste or the FC or BC / MBC classification either. Am I legally allowed to do that, although I would like to remain a follower of the Hindu faith?

Dear Sir / Madam,
It is always good to keep matters simple.
If you do not wish to be recognized with a particular caste or classification, whenever you apply for admission or job or for any Government document, just choose and tick on the "general" category of the form or application.
Regards,
