community certificate

ours was a intercaste and inter religion marriage where my Husband belongs to Nattukotai chettiar forward caste and I belong to Christian Nadar backward caste. Now I want a certificate for my son in X std as backward .

Will I be able to get the certificate as backward for my son and if possible please tell me whom should I approach and the formalities regarding that.

The issue is disputed in law. Depending upon the upbringing of your son, he may get a certificate of your husband's caste unless the State Government has framed Rules permitting children to inherit the caste of their mother.

You may need to contact an Advocate well versed with local laws of your State.
