Dear Sir / Madam,

'Suit" means a lawsuit or a petition, especially to a person's authority. (Oxford)

"Petition" means 1. supplication (humbly submit to a person or for a thing), request, 2. formal written request especially one signed by many people appealing to an authority, 3. Law application to a court for a writ (form of written command to act or not act in some way) etc. (Oxford)
