What is the effective date from which Equal rights for sons and daughters came into force

Broadly, the equal rights for sons and daughters have been in existence even before India's Independence which was in the year 1947.
However, the right equal share of Hindu daughters in Ancestral property came into being in the last couple of decades only and the effective date varies from State to State.
