Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India
My father died in 1986. My mother gave an affidavit to Municipal Board in 1986 stating that the legal heirs of an urban property owned by my late father, through a family partion amongst his brothers, are me and my brother only.We are two brothers and four married sisters. She also relinquished her share to her two sons and requested the ownership of the property to be changed in the names of her sons(me & my brother) which was done by the Municipal board in the year 2004. My questions to you Sir,is:
can my married sisters claim their rights in this property in 2010? From which year Hindu succession ammendment act had been effective?

Yes, your married sisters have equal right in yours fathers property. Hindu Sucession ammendment is not relevant now.
