Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

A foreign lady (age 60 at present) came to India to be near her spiritual Guru 12 years ago. A few months after her arrival she had totally renounced the world and any activity in it,and went into reclusion without coming out of her secluded room for the next 11 years, without extending her passport and entry visa.During this time she has written great spiritual works, including poetry and music, and done great selfless service. She did not violate indian laws.Police did not know about her existence.

Recently someone reported about her to police and she is in trouble now. She is not going to leave India, the country of God, and those spiritual seekers who benefitted from her spiritual knowledge want to legalize her staying in India, otherwise she will be put in a jail very soon. Please answer what can be done for her to remain in India legally?

What Indian law is applicable in this case to such a God-realised person who has left the world and was used as God's instrument for the benefit of mankind?

Definitely there can be remedy but sadly there will be penalty as well for law violations.

She may approach the local "Collector" office and make an application for Citizenship. She may also seek condonation of "delay" in extenion of visa / living rights in India.
