Is it illegal for a boy and a girl, who are adult, to stay in a hotel room, if they are not married

Yes, in India, it may be illegal on the ground of immorality unless one can prove 'live-in relationship'. Staying together in a hotel room may lead to a presumption of 'trafficking of women' or prostitution.
