My father has sold a land in 1976 which was non transferable land and registration has been done but mutation has not been done in the name of buyer. Now half poetion of said land is in my possession and remaining part is unused. Mutation of said land has been done in my favour after death of my father in 2004. What is the legal impect of this case. Can i get the balance land which is not in my possession

Re: Land mutation and legal ownership
First thing, if the land is sold against the provision of law, then the government will forfeit the land if it comes to its knoweldge. So use the land as it is.
So far so use of balance land is concerned, you need to specify as to in whose possession is the rest of land. If it is a single piece of land, then as per the mutation entry, your deemed to be in the possesion of the entire land.
