mental and physical harrasement and torure by husband and its compensation claim

Sir , i got married in nov2005 and since marriage my husband and his family is demanding for money dowry etc , my parents did the marriage of around 22 laks , they gave swift car , cash jwellery , etc inspite of such a nice marriage they behaved very badly with me due to which i attempted suicide once and also went in depression , sir i got married at the age of 20and half years just after finishing my graduation in 2005,sir they gave too much torture to me but when i raised my voice and launched complaint 498a against them they gave me divorce notice with all false grounds, sir i want to know that can i claim for 25 lakhs rupees compensation claim because they gave me mentall torture and physically also harrassed so many times , and also gave me marriage tag in such a young age which is priceless , they have spoiled my 3 golden years of life i want to know how i can claim compensation or claim of 25lakhs ruppees bcz these people has spoiled my life anfd freely roaming after taking anticipatry bail, i want to know that is their any provision under which i can claim for mental torture and hurt of self respect and dugnity claim , please sir tell me and help me out ,

You can surely claim compensation for much more that you have mentioned.

You are not only entitled to return of every penny spent by your parent in marriage, but ALSO the jewellary and gifts/shaguns received by you after marriage from him and his parents/relatives.

You should ignore the divorce notice.

Pursue your complaint u/s 498-A seirously.

Also institute proceedings under DVA.

You have a very strong case. Nothing to worry. Law is entirely in your favour. You will need to be persisent in your efforts to settle yourself with dignity and honour.

do not worry about the anticipatory bail; that is no relief to them;

repeat : pursue your remedies under DVA. read this Act carefully, which has been enacted by the Indian Parliament for girls like you.

Yes, you can claim compensation for mental and physical cruelty committed by your husband and in laws . You can do it under civil litigation or you can also file a case under provisions of Domestic Violence Act cailming comprnsation and maintenance.

you can file case under domestic violance act for all teh torture and harassement
