notice period on resignation

I resigned from WIPRO Ltd. at Baddi after serving for nearly 18 months. I did not give any notice to them for it. They deducted my two months salary equivalent from my dues. I want to know is there any law which specifies the limit regarding notice period and deductions made by the company or we have to abide by the terms and conditions as laid by the company.

when your appointed teh terms of your contract specify these conditions which you have to abide by

If the policy is unreasonable and againstlaw then you can challenge the same in court.

if terms and conditions are against law then they can be challenged

otherwise they are applicable
