Registration

1. If the Lease deed is signed only for 11 months by Residential

premises, Industrial or Commercial. Is it legally required to be registered

under the Stamp duty Act under Registrar office.

2. Lease Agreement for Industrial / Commercial for more than 11 months.

Are such deeds to be registered with the Registrar of stamps?

1. A lease deed for 11 months may not require registration.

2. Lease agreement for 12 months or more may require registration. You may approach the local registration office - Collector's office - for appropriate guidance about stamps etc. or contact a local lawyer.

Good Morning!

1. Registration is not required if it is for 11 months.

2. If it more than 12 months (1 year) it requires a registration in the Sub Registrar office paying proper stamp duty.

3. You may approach the Sub Registrar Office or Collector Office of your district to get guidance about the stamp duty and the registration charges.
