Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in India

rental property

we are in rental for last 45 years. now the property came for auction and bought some body. that somebody is threatening us to vocate the house. we took stay order in municipal court and original old owner and his sisters also file case against the bank which the property was in loan condition. Because the some of the property(7000sq.ft) is named in some of the sisters of original owner. My question is whether the new owner has the power to remove us from the house since we are in that place almost 45 year eventhough taking stay order also? whether can we complain to police station? what is the power of the new owner on us?

Re: rental property

You may consult a local lawyer for proper guidance. Normally, the law is : "once a tenant, always a tenant" , irrespective of change of ownership.

The tenant may be required to pay rent to the new owner (s) but his rights may not be affected.

However, the landlord/owner may be entitled to seek eviction in accordance with law.
