Society Secretary Selection
Is it necessary that the Secretary of a Housing Society should have the flat on his name? Can he become Secretary if the flat is in the name of his spouse?

Usually only a member of the society may contest elections for any office of the society. You may check bye-laws of your society.

Usually there are two types' of Secretary, one is Secretary as an employee and second one is contested Secretary. For the purpose of contested Secretary, membership is must unless otherwise if provided in bye-laws.
