A Tenant who is running a shop from 34 years, paying the rent on time, is been asked to evict the shop under section 16 of Maharashtra Rent Control Act 1999, on the basis of bonafide need. The landlord runs a shop in the same complex, has 3-4 shops with him, has a godown on the terrace, and many other shops and properties in the nearby area.

this cannot be considered a bonafide need of the landlord and you can file an appeal against the order of eviction.
