Ideas how to start up new contracts legal team

I have recently joined a small software development company as legal executive. My role in my organisation is draft and review the contracts. So i would like to before i move how should i start the contracts department and what are the necessary to start up a department?? Please advice.

You may call for all the contracts the company had executed in the past and start making a review about their legal validity as well as working till now.
