Legal Question in Technology Law in India

Software Product Protection

We have developed a software product using open-source tools and other licensed tools. What should we do to protect our software so that we the only one who have the right to sell that product when we start to market it involving other third parties? Do we need apply for a copyright? trademark? intellectual property? Does this relate to 'estafa case'?

Re: Software Product Protection

Your software is protected by copyright law. There is no need for any registration.

Regarding your other queries, since most software depend on other software (example:- librabries) often provided by the development tools, a detailed analysis of your program(s), its license and an analysis of the license of the development tools you use is necessary to determine whether use of software libraries by your program is permitted by the license of your deelopment tools.

Hope this helps.

Softwares are protected by copyrighted law. Since the software is developed using opensourced tools and licensed tools there is nothing to worry as you are automatically copyright protected.
