The Constitution of India provides for the post of Prime Minister. It prescribes the requirement of " A person being a member of the Parliament - Conventionlly the Lower House i,e; the House of People - and that needs us to know that a person who is a citizen of India and who is more than 25 years of age can be a member of the central legislature - thus what follows is any person who fulfills the criteria of being a member of the parliament can be a Prime Minister of India, however he who enjoys the confidence of the majority of the party which has highest number of members in the house is generally elected by such party to lead the Council of ministers as the Prime MInister.
