The code of civil procedure - part V deals with the special proceedings- s.89 settlement of dispute outside the court is permitted by arbitration, conciliation , through Lok Adalat , mediation and The legal services Authority ACt, 1987 provides legal sanctity to the alternate legal forum - Lok Adalat.
