Legal Question in Consumer Law in India

is a blank cheque (with signature) valid with out a valid document / undertaking. One of my relative had borrowed money and returned the money back with interest. On demand note was taken back but the cheque had not been returned. But the lender is now harassing or you may want to say blackmailing stating that the money has not been returned and infact asking for more money. How could we move on this subject.

The lender was a trusted person and what we did not understand is that there is no value for goodness and trust. He turned out to be a cut-throat who will do anything for the sake of money

if the demand note has been returned duly discharged, you may send a written notice demanding back the cheque.
