Legal Question in Consumer Law in India
I have deposited an amount of Rs.25000/- to a private traders and obtained a receipt. He agreed to pay me the interest @ 18% p.a. Now he is not making the payment of interest as well as principle amount, can I file suit under consumer law against him.

You can file civil suit for recovery. You have not mentioned whether any written agreement was there or not, whether any cheque was ever given to you or not, how did you make the payment- by cash or cheque.. all these points are to be considered before initiating legal action.
