Legal Question in Consumer Law in India
Where in the silence on part of a statutory body installed by the State in execution of a work entrusted to it , is brought to the notice of a Consumer Forum by an individual citizen under �deficiency of service� can it be termed as a Public Interest Litigation case ?

If you are dissatisfied with the performance of a statutory Body formed by State. You can
not move to consumer forum since you are not a consumer in term of the said Act.
But surely you can ask a question or series of questions or take sample of work or
details whatever sparks in your mind by exercising Right to Information Act-2005.
Your directly write addressing to the Public Information Officer or Assistant Public
Information Officer of the concerned department and endorsing a ten rupees court fee
(it differs from state to state) BPL are exempted to pay fee, and write your name and
address and detail question thereon and send through regd. post. The P.I.O. is bound
to reply your queries with 30 days time.
