It seems to be a typing error. You have to give an affidavit to the school authorities. an affidavit is to by typed on Rs. 10/- stamp paper.

Affidavit

I ...... son of .... resident of .... do hereby solemnly affirm and state as under:

My correct date of birth is 31st October 1967 and not 31st April. In fact, date 31st April is non-existant.

A copy of date of birth certificate is attached and made a part of this affidavit.

If you wish to correct it permanently, then draw the school authroity's attention through

a letter pointing the mistake and for necessary correction accompaying the copy of your

birth cerficate issued by Pnachayet or Municilpality or corporation.

They will do the needful if the record has been with the respective school Board.
