Legal Question in Consumer Law in India

I have got summons from Lok Adalat asking me to appear on the 31st of this month. This was filed by Airtel because I had not paid the monthly dues for a 4g lte connetion . The reason I had not paid was because the connection was extremely slow and i was having a conversation with their network team on this issue , meanwhile their legal team filed this complaint. Thier network team has agreed to waive of the amount as a refund for the 8000 rupees modem i had bought from Airtel. I am not sure if the legal team is aware of this . At this juncture if Airtel waives of the remainder amount , there is no case . Should I then appear in front of the Lok Adalat. Also can my brother (who is not a lawyer ) appear instead of me
