Dear Sir,
Section 17(c) of the Maharashtra State Co-operative Societies Act, 1960 pertaining to members rights, responsibilities and liabilities. Since your wife is the Treasurer on the Managing Committee, she can get your name enrolled as the Associate Member on the share certificate in respect of your flat by getting Form 19(B) approved in the Managing Committee meeting. As per prevailing rules, only one member from each flat / family / household is allowed to vote in the Managing Committee and the General body meetings of the Society. Section 19(B) read with the byelaws prohibits an associate member from taking part in Managing Committee meetings of the Society.
