cheque dishonored

i had given a cheque & it is dishonored, now i have got a summons from court, and i didn't got any notice before that. The person i had given cheque who is included in other case involved with a company which i had worked. This company had given payment to the party & he didn't return the cheque & filed case against me because i had given this cheque as a guarantee for the company. Now i am in trouble, in this case what i can do to safe my side.

First on the basis of legal notice discrepency you can win but after 6 months. then detil discuss is required.

Since the process has already started by issuance of summons, you may have to defend yourself by appearing in the court; you may need to obtain bail by appearing in the court on the date fixed.

If notice the payee did not service a notice on you before filing the case, that may itself be a good defence for you during trial.

You may engage a counsel for defending you in the court.
