Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

dues

a friend of mine has got some outstanding dues in the form of personal loan and credit card from one of the banks in the middle east. his current financial position does not permit him to repay the dues .. can he held liable in any form here in india with regards to the issur? can a legal action against him can be taken against him here in india.. what does the law of india say in such cases.

yes, he may still be liable in india and legal action can be taken against him; he may even have to suffer a jail term if pursued by the Bank.
