Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

One of my friend asked for moneyatary help from me qoating his some family problem and that he will return within 2 to 3 months. I deposited Rs 18000 into his bank account in Oct 2010. I nothing have in writing. Only thing which I have the receipts of the bank proving that I have submitted the amount in his account. Now after 6 to 7 months he has refused to return my money. Do I have any legal recovery option?

You can sue him for return of the lent money.

You have a verbal contract.
