Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

A friend died four and half years ago leaving no assets earned by him.A person now a few days back says the dead person was due to him Rs 7 lakhs.He wants the dead person's wife to pay.Is this claim tenable under indian laws?

As Wife has not received any assets, from her deceased husband; she is not liable to repay any of his debts.
