Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

My Grandfather has taken a loan from bank of indian on the agricultural land we have. He was not able to pay the loan back. Now we have received an auction notice from DRT-3. Can they really take possession of our land?

in case you are not in a position to pay back the loan and unable to hire a lawyer, the bank may take the possession.
