Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

My mother-in-law runs chit(private) i dont know details about how many chits & what's the amount. Recently we got to know she has suffered huge loss in that. So, to help her my husband sold our only plot(60x40) for 16 lakh and gave her that amount. Her problem was not solved. we solved 30x40 3BHK house and now we are selling only house left to clear her financial problems. But after all these, my mother-in-law tells that she has another 90 lakh debt(after selling the only house pending mentioned above). She wants my husband to clear this huge amount cos he is her son !!. I am scared about the legal implecations against me & my husband. Please suggest me a help. We are not in india & we ourself are in debts coz my husband took loan & sent to india to help his mother.
We are not in a state to help them ANYMORE cos we ourself are in huge debt.
My inlaw has 3 daughters(married & settled in india) and 1 son(my husband)

If ur husband is not guarantorand the same is not run by him then u have not to worry
