Payment of borrowed money

i lent a sum of rupees 2000 to my acquaintance, he returned the money in form of a cheque. the cheque bounced at my bank. what legal action can i take? is there any limit upto which we cannot file a case even if the cheque bounces? please help

good afternoon

well in this case you cannot file a case directly as according to the negotiable instrument act you have to serve him with a legal notice via lawyer but first deposit the cheque one more time in the bank and taken the return memo as well

you can file case for any amount of cheque bounce. file the case and let him have the punishment if he dont compensate you properly.

there is no limit.. go contact a lawyer and file a 138 complaint

You can file a case u/s.138 N.I.Act and also recovery case.
