Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

I am presently unemployed for past 2 months due to which unable to make Credit Card payment. Had communicated the same to collection people who r regularly calling n harassing me n my wife for payment. please advise as how can I get some time leverage for settling the dues. is there any legal way.

you may approach the bank for amicable settlement or you can approach a lawyer to send a legal notice to collection agency.
