Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

I was about to rent a flat and gave the deposit money to the broker. But things did not work out and i did not sign the agreement but the broker is saying that he will cut one months rent and then give the rest of the money. How can i deal with this?

Dear Sir / Madam,

Please tell the broker point blank to return back your money else tell him that you will have to report the matter to the Police to seek back your money. He will immediately return back your entire money out of fear of the Police.
