can i serve a legal notice u/s 138 n.i.act personally by hand

In condition of Service by hand you need to take receiving by the opposite party and file affidavit of service on your name or any other person who went for the service.

Affidavit of Service is compulsory in both condition whether notice is duly served or not otherwise service will not be as per law.
