Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India
Sir,
A party is owing me an amount of Rs. 11 lakhs, which has not been paid for more than 18 months.
Unfortunately, the computer bill copy does not say any jurisdiction. In that event, where should I file a case?

I presume that the outstanding is for recovery of price for goods or service (movable property). As per CPC, place of filing case is generally where the defendant (opposite party resides). Place of suing can also be at place where the transaction took place i.e. place of placing of order or signing of contract or place where goods or service were delivered.

it would depend where the part of cause of action arose. so you will have to give details before the jurisdiction could be decided or opined
