Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in India

Before one year my 2 are missed from my office. and i inform that in my nearest police station i have reciving of that.but i am not make stop payment of now that. someone deposite my cheques in his account and he send me leagal notice u/s 138 for i have liabilty to him for a frindly loan. plz suggest me wt i do now.

he has to prove the loan and the money paid to you. in case he is taking the plea that he paid the cash and you issued the cheques in return, this may be a weak plea. however, you should mentioned all the facts.
