Re: 498A and bail

You should return to India; (a) seek bail; and (b) seek permission to continue working in UK.

However, it may be better for you to reach an out of court amicable settlement with your family to avoid a protracted and costly litigation.

Re: 498A and bail

You will be required to take bail.

Your passport may or may not be impounded by court. However, as one of the conditions of bail, court may impose condition of prior permission of court for traveling outside jurisdiction of court, either within country or outside country.

Suggest you to take an opinion from a local lawyer who would be able to guide you better based on the information/stage of the matter in the court in 498A case.
