Deposition of witnesses is the basic evidence or proof called oral evidence and same is corroborated by video, audio, medical etc. evidence. If oral evidence inspire confidence and prove the offence, same is sufficient for conviction.

Do you really think that a bride enters a matrimonial home with video or audio recorder or the neighbours near the matrimonial home will depose against their neighbours (in-laws). There are no classes of witnesses. Only thing is that the deposition shld inspire confidence. Remember the matrimonial crimes are committed within the four walls of a house. Most of the evidence is oral in such cases. Which document can prove cruelty.
