regarding 498a

Sir my self Doctor by profession married a Doctor from bangalore. i am doctor in saudi. she never shifted to saudi. i vist her in yearly vaction. we have two sons. its 7th year of our marriage, she is only bothered about money money and money neither my wellbeing nor my comforts, she want to stay with her parental family members, she stayed in my house as jst mere guest ehardly for a week, she could not tolrate me staying with my old parents and caring them. last year she demanded 3 lakh , i refused to give her. after my departure she lodged 498a and jailed my old parents for two days. my sisters brother attended court and suffered enough and asked me to be peacefull, never made me feel about it. charge sheet is submitted from womn police station to court , date is in july. now she calledup my family members and requesting them to call me as she has regret of troubling old people so she want to withdraw the case. so her advocate and herfamily members called up and requesting my family members to call me back as she want to withdraw through compromise. her advocate says my presence is must for withdrawal. please sir my family suffered a lot, is it necessary to return back to india or not. i too miss my old parents very much.

you may return to india or you can authorise any person to represent you on your behalf. i think you should also forgive your wife as such cases are being filed under undue influence of either parents or relatives.

498A is not a compoundable offence. Though you wife can proceed to get the matter dismissed by the court. Your presence for the same is not required. you can appoint a lawyer for the same.
