Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

i had taken 10,000/- loan in interest of rs 10% inthe year 2004,and i had paid the amt after 6 months with interest.but he had not given me chque back,he told he had lost it,as we were in friendly relation i belived him.Now after 8 years he filed a case against me that is cheque bounce case ,and the amt he mentiioned in that is 2,50,000/- rs.

wat should i hav to do abt this plz give me some information hw to escape from this matter.....

A cheque is valid only for 6 month. Of which date you had issued the cheque? Plz confirm and tell me. The case is time barred. I think, he is be fooling you. Did you get summon from the court?

A cheque with any date of 2004 can not be presented in 2012.
