Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

I had an argument with another Christian like me about the Christian religion being superior to other religions. The other fellow did not accept my argument. He got angry with me and hit me injuring my face. If I make a police complaint against him, will I also be prosecuted?

Do I have to attend court hearing in India which I am unable to since I am working abroad.?

Can I just give a medical certificate to the police and absent myself from the hearing as the case is now between the public prosecutor who will fight on my behalf for the injury caused and the other person ?

Better try to buy peace by an amicable out of court settlement. Religion is a matter of faith and not a matter of argument. If you believe your religion is superior, you should continue enjoy your superiority sitting home; Whee is the need to impose that on others? You should give in writing to the police about your being preoccupied abroad. In my opinion, if you are truly religious person, you should not pursue the matter further.
