bike stolen

i filed a case on my parking owner coz my bike has stolen from parking and police filed case in sec 406... i want to knw is it appropriate sec for this case... pls tell me in detail wt can i do else

Section 406 under I.P.C reads as under -- Punishment for criminal breach of trust. �Whoever commits criminal breach of trust shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to three years, or with fine, or with both.

Hence F.I.R. is under correct section. You may need to file a theft case too in order to get your bike back apart from claiming damages from the parking owner.
