Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

i bought a bike 4 years back and 3 years from the day i bought it, it got stolen.at that point the bike was not registered under my name , it was still registered under the original owner's name. a few days later from the day the bike was stolen , i filed a FIR in the newest police station. two weeks from filing the FIR the bike got found. so i decided to get it from the police station. police officers over there told me that i am suppose to get the bike under "superdhari" from the high court itself , the one at saket, new delhi. so i went to court and showed them my cash receipt and a copy of the sales transfer letter given to me by the original owner with his signature on it at the time of purchase of the bike. the judge at the high court allowed me to take my bike back home under "superdhari". now after 4-5 months later i get a summon by the court for this case, it turns out that they found the guy who stole my bike and at that point they also called in the original owner of the bike as well.the judge asked me if i wanted to get the guy prosecuted but the thief wanted to go for compromise so i told judge that i would be ok with doing a compromise with the thief. then the judge gave the thief a new date for the "lok adalat". i have also transferred the bike's ownership to my name.i should get the new registration sent to me in a new days. Now my question is that would i have to go to lok adalat for this case or will the original owner be required to be present in the case and how can i end this as soon as possible cause i dont want to get the run around in these court cases . i want to end this as soon as possible. please help me out . thanks in advance
