Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

My Brother-in-law had done love-marriage in 2006 with a NRI. At the time of Marriage, No one from Bride side appear and when we asked Bride about this, she said that she has no family members. Gradually after Marriage, we got to know following things about her:-

1. She was married in U.K. We have proof of Marriage; however, there is no proof of Divorce of her First Marriage.

2. We got to know that she has a family there (currently settled in Gujarat, India). She lied to us that she has no family. In other words, she lied about her background.

Currently, she is giving suicide threat. My brother in-law's wife is very disturbed due to the fact that their marriage is not stable. She also has not good relation with my wife, Father in-law and Mother in-law. She is regularly threating us that she may commit suicide. We have constantly tried to convince her and motivate her; but she think that we are responsible for this situation. She lives in Mumbai with her husband and two kids. I and my wife live in Delhi. My parent In-laws lives in Patna. She uses to call us and threat us and my Parent in-laws. For the record purpose, I have recorded her calls. Please advise, what should be do in this condition. Should we file complain on the basis of suicide threat or should be file complain for hiding her background details (we believe that she has not taken divorce from her first husband as she is not showing any divorce certificate).

You need to place on record telephonic threats received by you at Delhi or your parents at Patna. You may place that on record by reporting the same to the police stations where calls were received.

Apart from this, there are various counseling facilities made available by Govt for people with suicidal tendency. Explore that.

You may also explore examination and treatment by an experienced psychologist.
