Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
My brother-in-law's wife is some different kind of lady. They are newly married (six moths). But she seems to be cheap minded. She behaves very crudely with inlaws & husband. Even she had commited suiside also, she had taken 15 pills of Avil'50 to kill her self. But she was saved. She don't want to do any work. She use to make phone calls in midnight to her uncle to tell false things. She has given false statement to her family that mother-in-law has beaten her. When her father-mother has come to investigate. she told infront of everbody that nobody has beaten her. Even she has used some powder (from any saint) to make her husband favourable.
Apart from the above now her uncle is telling that they are going to charge IPC 498a against them & they are going to include the name of Father, mother, brother, brother's wife, sisters & me (Sister-in-law). Although I have never gone to their hause after marriage.
Can u plz advice what should we do.

in such a situation, you may file an anticipatory bail in case she lodges an f.i.r. a divorce petition may also be filed citing cruelty.
Shower as much love and affection as possible; try to make her feel home. After marriage, the girl needs to be "transplanted" in husband's home and at times the process takes time. Try to avoid litigation and reach an amicable out of court settlement. Consider it a family problem and try to solve in the house.
