Legal Question in Criminal Law in India

In my case of bail application, under section 27, drugs and cosmetic act, 1940( Uttar pradesh amendment), the chief judicial magistrate has said to confirm whether he has the jurisdiction to try the case or not. He has cited the case of Ravindra prakash V/S union of india( Allahabad High court) 1984 where the court held that only session court has the power to try the case since the pinishment under the case is more than 10 years. Therefore the C.J.M has said to check and get any other case which has overruled this judgement. Is there any citation which the courts follows and which has overruled this judgement making it very clear about the jurisdiction of the case.
