Legal Question in Criminal Law in India
Can c.b.i. investigate conventional crimes such as theft,cheating,robbary etc,with out asking by high court,supreme court or state govt. in other words can cbi investigate suo-moto conventional crimes.
or offences not covered by p.c. act? citation supreme court or state high courts

Check jurisdiction of CBI in this behalf, which is constituted by a special act.
An order of Govt or Court is required only for investigation of crimes beyond jurisdiction of CBI. Within the jurisdiction of CBI provided by special act, CBI can investigate.
