The concept of law as defined is same all along. Did you mean chaning judicial view on the subject, as could be gathered from recent case laws?

Re: changing concept of cruelty
while the defination of cruelty remains the same, but in a recent Apex Courts jugdment it has been clarified that under 498-A the presence of nexus between cruelty and the demand of dowwry is a must for it to be considered as cruelty. If there is no nexus then cruelty or harassment can not be considered under 498A
