Check validity 6 Months from the date of issue
Check validity 6 Months from the date of issue ie. 31st Dec 2008. I have submitted the check 5 months 25 days after the date now I have received check bounce statement cause mentioned with Insuficient funds. When I need to file the case and how much time beyond to this scenerio.

We suugest you to read section t. The section 138 of the negotiable instruments act. The section itself is self explanatory.

the date when u received the bounced cheque, within one month, you are supposed to send a legal notice to the drawer asking him to pay the amount and in case he doesnt make the payment within 15 days from receiving the notice, you may file the complaint within one month from the expiry of those fifteen days.

the date when you recieved the cheque with memo from bank, you can issue notice with in 30 days through counsel from the date of memo
