Cheque Bounch

What is the time limit for the Court to resolve the case ACT # 138 of Negotiable Instrument Act? For me I am the complaint and the case was filed by my lawyer in Sept.2005, in a Criminal Court. Not moving at all. Please advise.

Though the time is six months but due to work load it generally extend.Now by the direction of Supreme court special courts are constituted.

there is a judgement of 2006 which says that the cheque bounce matters should be disposed off as soon as possible and the shortest possible dates must be given

refer that and get short dates

cant tell you the name of the judgement as it is professionl problem

statutary period is 6 month.

But due to lack of infractrere cases are pending.

As per the express provisions of Negotiable Instruments Act, a case u/s.138 should be disposed of as far as possible within six months.
